Frozen 2 was released on Disney Plus over the weekend and now more big news comes out of the entertainment industry due to COVID-19.

Movies usually spend a few months exclusively available via the movie theater before becoming available on other platforms. However, the coronavirus pandemic has led to closures of movie theaters around the world. According to CNET.com, NBCUniversal is making its movies available to watch at home the same day as theatrical releases. "Rather than delaying these films or releasing them into a challenging distribution landscape, we wanted to provide an option for people to view these titles in the home that is both accessible and affordable," Jeff Shell, the CEO of NBCUniversal, said in a statement. "We hope and believe that people will still go to the movies in theaters where available, but we understand that for people in different areas of the world that is increasingly becoming less possible."

The second movie in the Trolls franchise, Trolls World Tour, is set to open on Friday, April 10. Since the theatrical debut and home-viewing release are the same days, you don't need to worry about entertaining the kids while practicing social distancing. You can still let them watch Poppy, Branch and the rest of the gang do their thing while sitting on your couch.

Movies that are already in theaters will be available via on-demand services like iTunes and Amazon Video as early as Friday, March 20. According to CNET.com, NBCUniversal explained that they'll be available for a "48-hour rental period at a suggested retail price of $19.99 in the US or the price equivalent in international markets."
