Yet another big budget Hollywood movie is heading to Rhode Island for filming.

The Ocean State is quickly earning a reputation as a great place to make a movie. From James L. Brooks' dramedy Ella McCay to the soon-to-be filming Remain from M. Night Shyamalan, Rhode Island seems to be an East Coast Hollywood these days.

So perhaps it's not so surprising anymore when we learn that Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are bringing their latest collaboration to Rhode Island for filming too.

According to a recent report from Deadline.com, Scorsese, DiCaprio, Chad A. Verdi, LBI Entertainment's Christopher Donelly and Gareth West are all teaming up to produce the action thriller Carthage Must Be Destroyed.

Though the movie is being written and directed by Ocean's Eleven screenwriter, Ted Griffin, it has some very distinct Scorsese characteristics.

The plot involves a stranger coming to "a rust-belt city in decline, ruled by its criminal underworld." The stranger then of course works to dismantle this corrupt power structure and presumably lots of stuff gets blown up in the process.

No famous faces have been attached to the project yet, though Deadline reports that casting is underway for the project.

They say all actors/actresses should be in place for production to start in Rhode Island this October.

So between The Gilded Age season three hitting HBO next month, Ella McCay coming to theaters this winter and M. Night Shyamalan's Remain filming from June through August, there will be a whole lot of Rhode Island to see on screen.

Newport Mansions Seen in HBO's 'The Gilded Age'

"The Gilded Age" film crews have returned to Newport, Rhode Island, for several weeks of filming for the upcoming second season of HBO's hit show. Casting calls from March gave away the International Tennis Hall of Fame as a site for several scenes and, of course, several of the historic city's epic mansions are being used as well.
