Just a few weeks ago news broke that M. Night Shyamalan would be filming his latest thriller in the Ocean State. Now we have more information on what the new movie will be about.
In early April locals got very excited to hear that Jake Gyllenhaal would be starring in Shyamalan’s upcoming film and both the director and actor should be spotted in Rhode Island throughout the summer.

The book already has an October 7, 2025 release date and the plot synopsis definitely has us intrigued.
What Is The Book Remain About?
According to Amazon.com, Remain is “a one-of-a-kind novel that grapples with the supernatural mysteries of life, death, and human connection.”
Gyllenhaal will play New York architect Tate Donovan who comes to Cape Cod to design his best friend's summer home after recently being discharged from an upscale psychiatric facility. Donovan falls deep into depression after losing his sister, who also happens to reveal she can see spirits on her deathbed and that Tate should be able to see them too.
Gyllenhaal's character then meets actress Phoebe Dynevor's character, Wren, and the two make an immediate connection that neither has ever experienced before.
Surely a love story unlike any other, but we're sure there's going to be a serious twist in there too.
