Rhode Island's troll population is getting ready to grow.

Back in 2023, news first broke that world-renowned "Recycling Art Activist" Thomas Dambo would be bringing some of his massive wooden trolls to Rhode Island. He created Erik Rock and Greta Granit for Ninigret Park in Charlestown and promised to come back to build more.

Now after months of speculation on where the latest Thomas Dambo giant troll would be built in the Ocean State, one local mayor says his town is it.

Where Will the Latest Thomas Dambo Troll Be Built in Rhode Island?

When the Dambo troll project was first announced by the South County Tourism Council in 2023, it noted that the plan was always to create a "troll trail" through the entire state.

So we always knew the two trolls in Charlestown, Rhode Island would get some friends.

Then in February, we learned that the first of the additional trolls was going to be built in North Kingstown with a fourth troll rumored to be headed to Exeter or Richmond.

Now comes word that the latest Thomas Dambo troll would actually be coming to an entirely different part of the state – and become the closest troll to Massachusetts, too.

Seems East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva is sharing the secret of where Rhode Island's troll trail is headed next.

East Providence has lots of spots to choose from, but surely Crescent Park with its historic Looff Carousel and views of Narragansett Bay seems like a prime location.

Other parks could also make the cut, like Willett Avenue Pond with great walking trails to hide a troll on and the 7.8 acre Boyden Boulevard Conservation Area definitely has plenty of space.

Only time will tell where the new troll will go, but as these pictures show you, something beautiful is coming our way again.
