Have You Seen Me? Random Horse Pops Up in Mattapoisett
It looks like Salty the Seahorse isn’t the only horse in town.
Off Route 6 in Mattapoisett on River Road and down a small embankment, a plastic horse was spotted in the hollow of a tree.
It certainly didn’t get there by itself, so how did it get there and why?
Smoky Moak loves bike riding around Mattapoisett and has been doing so for years.
Admittedly, she has seen “many little wonders” during her rides over the years, and her latest find had her scratching her head.
“If you turn into River Road from Route 6 just shortly before the bridge, down a small embankment on the right is the horse that has been placed in the hollow of a tree at its base, almost theatrical,” she said. “I got off my bike and walked down for a better look and to take a pic. The horse almost looks as if it is charging out at someone from a secret hiding place!”

Moak shared the photo online and it immediately caught my attention. It's random and I am dying to know more.
Is it a lone horse that escaped from the graveyard Ponyhenge in Lincoln? Or is it simply an old toy horse that didn't quite make it to the landfill?
It seems to be placed with purpose, and if it's meant to start a conversation, they got me hooked.
If you have any information on the person behind this Mattapoisett horsie, this curious radio DJ wants to chat.
