Massachusetts’ Most Popular Baby Names for 2022

Something called names.org has released what it says are the most popular boy and girl baby names in Massachusetts for 2022. Take a look at the list and lists from past years on their site and discover the various trends in baby names.

"Each year, the Social Security Administration publishes the totals for the first names for all Social Security applications for births that occurred in the United States since 1880," Names.org wrote. "The publication is the most complete record of first name usage in the United States."

However, the SSA has yet to publish the most popular baby names for children born in 2021, so names.org instead used the five most recent years' worth of data from the SSA "to detect any trends."

Of course, we can't vouch that any of this is true, but it sounds legitimate. Besides, the folks at names.org used a lot of charts and graphs to make their case. They also list names most unique to our state and compare our popular baby names to those of other states.

The site also has a list of unique modern names and a list of less common unique names. It's fun to look around.
