Do you ever feel like nothing's going right in the world but then something happens to restore your faith? I have a story today that just immediately brought a smile to my face.

After hearing from her sister that Michelle Carvalho of BEC Salon in Fall River was donating free makeup, hair and spray tans to teens less fortunate, Jayne Collins, the owner of Rustic Rose Floral Designs in Westport decided to follow in her footsteps. Collins decided to offer free boutonnieres, corsages, and bouquets to any teens that can show a letter of proof that they're currently in foster care.

Being raised in a family that emphasized the importance of giving back to the community, she knew that she had to get involved to help local foster care children. She said that she was inspired by her dad, who actively volunteered with the United Way and the Rotary Club during her childhood.

It's clear that putting the community and others first runs in Collins' family.

If you or someone you know is in need of this service, contact Jayne Collins at her store Rustic Rose Floral Designs located at 655 State Road in Westport. These teens do not have to live in Westport to take advantage of her offer; any foster teen living in the area is welcome to have flowers for their prom.
Lastly, to Collins, if you're reading this, please know that you're doing a great service to the SouthCoast and truly are making a difference. You should be proud.
