New Bedford Represented at Wrestlemania XL
Even though Wrestlemania XL was in Philadelphia this past weekend, there was still some SouthCoast representation on the "Grandest Stage of Them All."
New Bedford’s own Samantha Johnson, who serves as the ring announcer for WWE’s Monday Night RAW program (using her ring name of Samatha Irvin), had the mic for both nights of Wrestlemania XL, delivering memorable calls of all the opponents in one of the most beloved Manias in recent history.
However, it was her emotional call of Cody Rhodes “finishing the story” and defeating longtime WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns that has gone viral.
Johnson was in tears Sunday night as she announced Rhodes as the new champ, and that raw emotion (no pun intended) really resonated with WWE fans who had been pulling for “The American Nightmare” while also ready to move on from Roman Reigns’ 1,316-day run as champion.

Speaking of New Bedford, the co-owner of Cojo’s Toy World – which opens at its new William Street location this Saturday – was also in attendance at Wrestlemania Night 2.
However, Ted “Teddy Goodz” Bolduc wasn’t in the crowd; he was on the entrance ramp, portraying one of the Braveheart warriors during Drew McIntyre’s entrance.
The local pro wrestler, who also appeared on Smackdown a few weeks ago in a segment with A.J. Styles and L.A. Knight, was seen on-screen as McIntyre made his way to the ring to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin’” Rollins.

Although McIntyre did topple Rollins and win the title, his obsession with CM Punk caused him to lose the championship after just five minutes when Damian Priest cashed in his “Money in the Bank” briefcase.
Can’t blame Ted for that, though – he was already long gone from the stage by that point.
