I probably wasn't much older than little Julian when my love affair with the Boston Red Sox began.  Since that time, it's been a roller coaster of emotions.  The lowest of lows (October 25th, 1986), to the highest of highs (pick any Big Papi walk off homer in the 2004 playoffs).  It's been a ride.

If you're under 21 years old, losing just isn't something that most New England sports have had to endure.  Sure, not everything has gone perfectly, but things haven't been far from perfect in this golden age of Boston sports.

Forgive me, but that's why it's so funny to see 6 year old Julian crying his eyes out about the Red Sox trading away Mookie Betts and David Price.

"It's NOT OK," cries little Julian.

"Maybe that means the Red Sox are going to get a really good player and replace him," his mom, Liz, tries to console him.

"They're gonna get the WORST player," Julian lamented.

Spoken like a kid who really knows what he's talking about.

Little Julian isn't buying anything but the fact that the Red Sox have made the conscious decision to officially mail in the 2020 season.

He knows.

At the tender age of 6, this kid knows, and he's saying exactly what the rest of us are feeling.

"No!  They would never make that deal," said his mom.

"Yes they would!" cried Julian.

"Don't you have faith in your team?"

"We're gonna get a HORRIBLE player," responds Julian.

Yeah, Julian, you're probably not wrong, pal.

"I don't even like the Dodgers!"

We don't either, buddy.

His mom, Liz tells us he cried himself to sleep last night.

We did, too.
