LAKEVILLE — Eight people have been hospitalized, including several children, after a multi-vehicle crash in Lakeville on Wednesday, according to the town's fire department.

The fire department noted in a Facebook post later Wednesday evening that crews responded to the crash at Main and Vaughan streets just after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Although eight people were taken to the hospital for treatment — including "several children" — none of the injuries appeared to be serious, according to the statement from the department.

The large number of people needing medical care resulted in mutual aid requests, with ambulances from several towns helping transport people to the hospital.

Ambulances from Berkley, Freetown, Middleborough, and Raynham helped take the patients, along with both Lakeville ambulances.

No further details were disclosed.
