
Hull Man Creates Stunning Multi-Colored Ice Igloo
Hull, Massachusetts resident Michael Hanks is making the most out of this cold winter by creating a magical, frozen masterpiece that's catching the attention of his community.
His creation: a dazzling igloo made of multi-colored ice panels.
The story behind it is as interesting as its appearance.
The Vision Behind the Colors
"This started with our son Hugh’s love of color and my wife Abby’s creativity, experimenting with food coloring to make bright, playful ice," Hanks said.

It took Hanks one whole week to create the snowy sculpture, made from simple ingredients and items you can find in your kitchen.
From Kitchen to Igloo: Simple Ingredients, Big Impact
"All you need is aluminum baking trays, food coloring, water, and lastly, very cold weather, so they freeze overnight," Hanks said. "Each night for a week we mixed colors and froze them into building blocks."

Community Reactions and Neighborhood Delight
The reactions from friends, family and neighbors have been extremely positive.
"It’s been fun, and it’s fun seeing kids enjoy it," Hanks said.
How could you not enjoy the colorful sight? It's like being inside of a stained glass snow globe.

Hanks admitted it took a lot of effort and he was "still thawing out days later," but the hard work was worth it.
"We’ve never done anything like this before," Hanks said. "It’s a first and certainly not last."
