It's no surprise that when it comes to famous places for Halloween in each state, Salem is the favorite for Massachusetts.  This historic haunted town is all about the October 31st holiday.

According to the official Salem webpage, there are dozens of things to do (some free)over the upcoming weekend.  After all, this is the place that is famous for those witch trials back in the late 1600's.

Over 300 years later, Salem is still a hub for the paranormal and spooky.  Ghost tours, séances, scary movies and parades are just part of the Halloween activities.

So, I would suggest our own Monster Mash on Friday night, and on Saturday make the 2-hour drive up to Salem.  There's the Witch Museum, House of the 7 Gables and many more attractions to make your pre-Halloween weekend complete.
