In a heartwarming act of kindness, Lynette Tilton of Plymouth took to Facebook on July 22 to share a story that highlights the best of humanity. Her post aimed to reach a young man named Anthony, who selflessly helped her and her family during a recent outing in Myles Standish State Forest.

Tilton's heartfelt message read:

I never post on this page but today I felt like I really needed to. If you are the parents of a young man named Anthony who drives a white Ford Focus, you should be very proud, or if you are this young man, this post is for you. Yesterday my husband and I took our almost 3-year-old on an afternoon walk on a trail in Myles Standish State Forest that, admittedly, we were ill-prepared for because we hadn't realized how long this trail was until we were finally on our way home.

We were walking for over an hour when we started to think we should ask for directions, and we came across this young man on a one-wheel board. We asked him if he knew anything about this trail. He had a map he gave us and rode ahead to check out the trail and came back to report his findings, checking for signs and what he could see up ahead.

He took my husband's number to keep in touch with us (which surprisingly worked considering the very little cell service out there). When he made it back to his own car, he contacted my husband to see if we were still out there and lost. At this point, we had been walking for over 2 hours. He found us and drove us back to our own car, for which we literally could not be more thankful! With a hot, cranky, tired toddler, this man was what felt like a lifesaver in this moment!

We both wished there was more we could have done for him to show how much we truly appreciated everything he did for us. If it had just been my husband and I, we would have just kept walking the trail or turned back, but our toddler was becoming very uncomfortable. So we thank you!! So very much for the amazing, kind, and caring person you are or that you have raised!

Tilton's story quickly caught the attention and praise of the community.

Anthony's selflessness and willingness to help strangers in need remind us of the power a simple act of kindness can wield.

If you know Anthony or are his parents, know that he has made a significant difference in the lives of Lynette and her family. His actions on that trail in Myles Standish State Forest turned a potentially distressing situation into a moment of gratitude and relief.

Heroes are often found in everyday situations, ready to lend a helping hand when needed most.
