All pets are wonderful. They make an average day better and they bring unconditional love to every situation. I've been a cat owner for years, and if you are in the market for a furry pal, I will always recommend them.

Here are some of the reasons why cats make the best pets, in my opinion:

They Like to Dance

Or at least mine does. My fiancé Ross and our tabby cat Piper have a special bond. They enjoy dancing with each other, and yes, it is as hilarious as it sounds. I have never seen a cat so willing to bust a move with their owner. Piper is truly one-of-a-kind.

You Will Never Nap Alone

I am the queen of naps. I’m not ashamed to say that I nap once a day, but the nice part is I never nap alone. Whether they are right at my feet or sharing the pillow next to me, Marley and Piper never hesitate to catch some z’s with me.

Once You Earn Their Love, They Are 100 Percent Loyal

Cats are notorious for being standoffish or moody, but it’s a marathon and not a sprint with felines. You have to earn their love, and once you do, they are not shy about showing affection or being protective. Piper loves cuddles and Marley loves head scratches, but they do not love strangers. Every stranger is a potential threat to their mom, and while my guests may be put off by the hissing, I find it hilarious and somewhat endearing to see them display their level of loyalty. And I promise, the hissing doesn’t last long.

They Are Professional Pest Eliminators

Insects and rodents will never be an issue in your house if you own cats. Countless bugs have met their match in the claws of Marley and I pity the mouse who attempts to enter the house of Piper. I’ll never have to buy any sort of repellent as long as I have my furry friends.
