Have You Ever Gone to the Movies Alone?

I've never gone to the movies alone, but this weekend changes that streak.

There are a couple of things I've never done alone. I've never gone out to eat by myself, or gone to the movies by myself.

If you listen to our show, you're probably well aware that my family is on vacation without me. I had to work this weekend, so they headed off on the first leg of our summer vacation.

While I'm working both Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, I have tonight off. Instead of staying home, I thought I'd check out that new movie about the Beatles, Yesterday.

I'm not going to lie, I've got a little anxiety about going into the movies all alone. I picture myself walking in the parking lot and opening up the door to the theater lobby. Alone. I picture standing in line alone to buy my ticket. The worst part of the experience would definitely be saying to the cashier, "ONE for Yesterday, please."

It's not because I'm ashamed. I think it's because if I saw someone at the movies alone I'd feel a little bad for them. I'd just be concerned that there was absolutely no one around to accompany him to the movies.

So, if you see me out tonight, please don't feel bad. I'm fine. I'm just trying to kill some time before the start of vacation.
