Happy’s return to the golf course is only a few months away.

Netflix released the official trailer for Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2 on Tuesday, giving a sneak peek of what fans can expect from the highly anticipated sequel.

A lot of familiar faces are returning with a few exciting cameos thrown in, and I couldn’t help but notice a recurring theme throughout the trailer.

Sandler’s love for the Boston Bruins is loud and clear.

The trailer shows Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) picking up his golf bag for the first time in years as he prepares to return to the course and face some of the best in the game.

Sandler may be older, but his iconic swing and famous style remain the same; unlaced combat boots, sweatpants, and a baggy Boston Bruins Jersey.

Back in April of last year when the sequel was confirmed, I could have bet money that some (or most) of the film would be filmed in Massachusetts.

Sandler may be from New Hampshire, but he often shows support for Boston sports teams in his films, and Happy Gilmore was no exception.

During his appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, Sandler confirmed that production would take place on the East Coast, but to my surprise, production never seemed to make its way to Massachusetts.

Am I salty? Okay, maybe a little, but you have a main character that is a ride or die Bruins fan and you don’t even plan a scene or two in Beantown?

It feels like an opportunity missed to me.

Either way, Happy Gilmore 2 continues to create a lot of buzz with its official trailer amassing 1.5 million views in just 10 hours.

Return to the course for Happy Gilmore 2 on July 25th, available on Netflix.
