It has been almost a year since my colleague Nancy Hall broke the exciting news that Foxwoods Resort Casino is adding a Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Water Park to its burgeoning entertainment mecca in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

When news of the "epic water park" was revealed last year, the plan called for a 2024 completion.

However, resort officials say opening day won't occur before "early 2025."

Construction is well underway on the Great Wolf Lodge location at Foxwoods. Casino and resort guests are made aware of "blasting" that is occurring during the construction process and that they should "not be alarmed."

Foxwoods guests are alerted to blasting by a series of horn blasts.

Foxwoods officials say, "Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be stopped for a period of approximately one minute on Trolly Line Boulevard and Foxwoods Boulevard for each blast."

Blasting occurs Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Information about blasting is posted on monitors throughout the areas closest to the construction, particularly the Rainmaker Casino.

Foxwoods officials have not responded to inquiries about the project's timeline or what visitors might expect when the Great Wolf Lodge opens.

The resort's website promises more information about when the Great Wolf Lodge will open, the number of rooms the new lodge will have, and what to expect from the water park, stating only, "When we finalize these plans, we will be announcing details in the coming months."

We'll keep you posted as we learn more information.
