Foxwoods is adding another star attraction to their growing property with the recent announcement of a Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park.

There is plenty of non-casino action happening at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut, these days and the groundbreaking of an epic new water park is just the latest of the family fun. Plans were revealed in February when the casino marked its 30th anniversary. Now work is set to get underway.

Construction of this massive indoor water park is expected to begin in June, with bids currently out to local construction companies for the work needed to be done. This is presumably a huge project, since the casino does not expect to open the new Great Wolf Lodge location until early 2025.

The work is still so new the Great Wolf Lodge website doesn't even list Foxwoods among its locations.

But it will be coming. That has been confirmed by the Foxwoods website and press releases from the casino.

The casino says the new indoor water park will "provide Northeast families with a close and convenient year-round getaway. Known for its immersive resort experience, Great Wolf Lodge provides an oasis of family joy and limitless opportunities for children and parents to bond and create lasting memories together."

Like many Great Wolf Lodge locations, the new Foxwoods water park will have huge water slides, wave pools, lazy rivers, water playgrounds and even an adult-only hot tub area. Presumably, indoor rock walls, rope courses, mini-golf and laser tag will be part of the new park, too. It will become one of the many new family-friendly additions to Foxwoods Resort Casino in recent years.

A virtual reality ride called XD Dark Ride opened in 2019, the Thrill Tower opened in 2017 and the HighFlyer Zipline arrived in 2018 as did the Monza Karting inside the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods. All add up to epic family fun any time of the year at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Don't Forget About the Amazing Igloos Outside Foxwoods Each Winter

While many restaurants are offering outdoor dining in igloos again this winter, some venues are taking the concept to entirely different levels. These three eateries have some of the best igloos we've seen this season.
