Foxboro Fire Chief Michael Kelleher is about to have a busy week.

In addition to keeping his community safe, he'll be making good on a friendly Super Bowl wager with Seattle Fire Chief Harold Scoggins.

The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots, 29-13, in Super Bowl LX Sunday night.

How the Super Bowl Bet Started

On Friday, February 6 (two days before the game),  Scoggins and his crew took to social media, initiating a challenge to Kelleher: the department whose team loses the Super Bowl will have to show their love for the opposing team.

"We know there's a big game on Sunday," Chief Scoggins said. "We're pretty confident in our Seahawks."

On behalf of Chief Kelleher, Deputy Chief Treannie responded with his own video, saying, "Our boys didn't travel all the way to the second best coast to come back with some watered down chowder and a $17 cup of coffee."

What the Fire Chiefs Wagered

Since Seattle won, Chief Scoggins will send a 12s jersey to Foxboro for Chief Kelleher. Not only will he have to wear the blue and lime green, he'll have to show it off to some important people.

A visit with the mayor is Scoggins' first request, supported by video evidence, of course. "Have your mayor sign it as 'No.1 Seahawks fan,'" Scoggins said.

From there, Kelleher will visit the Foxboro Police Chief to gather the same signature. Kelleher will then sign his own name as Seattle Seahawks' East Coast No. 1 fan.

Scoggins was prepared to do the same had his team lost, but unfortunately, a Drake Maye jersey is not on its way to Seattle.

So if you're in the Foxboro area and happen to see a not-so-happy Fire Chief wearing a Seahawks jersey, now you know why.
