Fun 107 Patriots beat reporter Nick Coit of Fox 61 Sports in Hartford joined The MGM Show Friday morning for our Patriots Preview segment. The good news is (like Ed Sheeran) the New England Patriots are dodging the nor'easter. The bad news is the tradeoff is the heat and humidity of central Florida.

Why the Patriots Are Wearing All White in Jacksonville

Coit said the all white uniforms the Patriots will wear on Sunday are not just a look. "This is a strategy," he said. "White reflects the sun, and New England is hoping it holds off some of the heat down in Florida."

Jacksonville Is Better Than You Think

Coit warned against writing off the Jaguars. They went 13-4 last season under head coach Liam Coen, a former coach for Brown University and UMass Amherst. Coen is an all-around Rhode Island guy who was once the quarterback for UMass Amherst. He was very much in the running for coach of the year alongside Mike Vrabel.

"This is a good, energetic, young coach, and with a lot of talent, too," Coit said. Trevor Lawrence has had his ups and downs, but he's had a decent start to this season.

Should Patriots Fans Worry About Drake Maye?

Not yet, according to Coit. He acknowledged the fourth quarter against the Seahawks was not great. Neither was the underthrown ball that caused the interception against the Steelers. But he also pointed out that Maye did not play in the preseason, and that last year Drake never really got into his groove until the first game against Buffalo.

Maye is also still building trust with new faces after Stefon Diggs left in the offseason and Kayshon Boutte was traded. "I'm not panicking yet," Coit said. "I think the kid's still got the talent." Coit said they're still getting to know each other.

Will the Patriots Defense Get Tested in Jacksonville?

Definitely. Coit said receiver Parker Washington has been Lawrence's favorite target this season, and an old familiar face, Jakobi Meyers, has also been a go-to receiver. Jacksonville can hit you with the running game as well. Still, Coit was impressed with the toughness of the Patriots' defense last weekend against Pittsburgh.

TreVeyon Henderson Is the Underrated Difference Maker

Coit called Henderson a stunning talent and a home run hitter who adds a different dynamic next to Rhamondre Stevenson. New England's lone touchdown last week came on a 39-yard Henderson breakaway, which surprised exactly nobody.

Nick Coit's Score Prediction for Patriots at Jaguars

Patriots 20, Jaguars 17. Coit expects another tight one with New England winning by a field goal. His surprise player pick is Pop Douglas. Kickoff is Sunday at 1 p.m. in Jacksonville.
