New England Patriots Legend Adam Vinatieri Kicks Guinness World Record Field Goal in Swiss Alps

Have you heard about Adam Vinatieri's latest championship trophy? Well, it's more of an accolade.

Not only did he kick his way into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Vinatieri decided his next big field goal needed a scenic backdrop. According to the New England Patriots, Vinatieri made a field goal at Jungfraujoch in the Swiss Alps (better known as the “Top of Europe") on Tuesday, September 22, scoring himself a Guinness World Record. Talk about taking your talents to new heights.

The Patriots posted the video listing the record as the highest-altitude American football field goal, made at 11,317 feet, 8 inches above sea level. Former Bayern Munich soccer player Giovane Elber was the guy Vinatieri kicked to the curb (no pun intended).

Adam Vinatieri Still Knows How to Handle the Snow

Of course, putting Vinatieri in the snow feels appropriate. Patriots fans hardly need a reminder of his unforgettable kicks against the Raiders during that snowy playoff game in 2002. Apparently, retirement form the NFL just means finding odd side-quests to try and conquer. Mission accomplished, Adam.
