It is officially football season, and Fun 107's Patriots beat reporter Nick Coit is back for another year of Patriots Preview. Coit, who has settled into his new role as Executive Sports Producer at Fox 61 in Hartford, joined The MGM Show to preview tonight's NFL Kickoff, featuring a rematch of last season's Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

What Should Patriots Fans Know Heading Into Tonight's Game?

Coit noted that this Patriots team is something of an unknown heading into opening night, largely because the starters sat out most of the preseason. The same goes for Seattle, by the way.

However, Coit is pumped to witness the chemistry between quarterback Drake Maye and former Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown. The tandem is one that he believes could take New England's offense to an entirely new level.

Is the Vrabel Controversy Going to Be a Factor?

As for the offseason drama surrounding head coach Mike Vrabel, Coit is not losing sleep over it. In his words, "winning is the best deodorant." Vrabel earned NFL Coach of the Year honors last season and built a culture players bought into. If the wins come, Coit believes the noise fades fast.

How Many Wins Can the Patriots Realistically Expect This Season?

Despite Mark Wahlberg's bold prediction of 14 wins, Coit thinks a 10-7 record is more realistic due to a significantly tougher schedule this season. That said, he believes New England could actually be a better football team than last season even with fewer wins.

As for tonight's game, Coit is predicting a tight contest, something in the range of 20-17 or 24-21, with the Seahawks edging out the Patriots by three. Win or lose, though, the new high-powered pieces to the Patriots' offense will be worth watching.
