Four Arrested in Swansea Paintball Incident
SWANSEA — Three men and one juvenile have been arrested in Swansea after police say they misused a paintball gun and other potentially dangerous weapons while driving on Saturday.
Police said the group of four was caught after a caller reported shots fired from a vehicle traveling west on Route 6 in a white Subaru near Bushee Road at around 1:21 a.m. Saturday.
A victim was not seriously injured in the shooting, and police said they declined transportation to a hospital.
Officers found and stopped the suspect Subaru in Seekonk shortly afterwards, police said.
According to police, they found several paintball guns inside the car.
A photo of the weapons seized by police appears to show a paintball gun along with two gray and orange "SplatRBall" Orbeez-style water bead guns.
Fall River men Derek Raposo, 19, and 21-year-old Austin Hobbs were both arrested along with 18-year-old Corey Dechaine and a 17-year-old teenage boy.
All four face charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
The three adult men were taken to the Ash Street Jail in New Bedford, while the minor was taken to a Framingham juvenile detention facility, police said.
