Food For Tots: The Sweet Ending
It has been an incredible Food For Tots season in 2019. We can't thank all of our participating restaurants enough, and all of the people that went out to eat at these great places on Food For Tots nights – you have helped make our healthcare system stronger here on the SouthCoast for our kids.
This Thursday, all day and night, we are sending you out for some sweet treats to put the cherry on top of the Food For Tots campaign. It's our Food For Tots "Sweet Ending."
Start the day at any New Bedford Honey Dew Donuts, then grab lunch or dinner at the Dartmouth Friendly's, some ice cream at Acushnet Creamery or Dairy Maid in New Bedford, or cupcakes at the Artisan Bake Shop in Rochester. All of these locations have agreed to donate 15 percent of their total sales to the Friends of Jack Foundation.
Money raised for Food For Tots will be used to make Boston Children's Hospital doctors as locally accessible to SouthCoast children as possible. The Friends of Jack Foundation believes that too many families are shut out of receiving the elite healthcare from Boston Children's Hospital because of a lack of resources to bring their children up to Boston.
In recent years, we have seen Dartmouth's BCH satellite open up, along with the Boston Children's Hospital Emergency Department inside of St. Luke's in New Bedford. These have been major developments, and Food For Tots wants to continue this type of momentum.
Some come on out on Thursday, treat yourself to something sweet, and knowing you're helping SouthCoast kids will make it even sweeter.
