Acushnet Creamery Handing Out Free Sundaes After Middleboro Tragedy

After an unspeakable tragedy in Middleboro last weekend, Acushnet Creamery has announced a fundraiser to help the devastated family.

Children at the Nichols Middle School are still shocked over the loss, some struggling to come to understand the devastating loss of one of their 12 year old classmates, Jasmine Lane.

Parents at the school aren't doing much better.  The unthinkable has happened.  Every parent's nightmare, compounded by the fact that Jasmine's parents were on a cruise vacation when they got the news and were unable to return home immediately.

Beyond the irreplaceable loss of Jasmine, the Lane family has to somehow figure out how to piece their lives and home back together.  They're going to need help.

When Doug and Donna Coray, the owners of Acushnet Creamery, first heard about the fire, they knew they had to do something.  "It's every parent's nightmare," said Donna Coray.  "I can't even think about it, or I'll burst into tears."

The iconic Acushnet ice cream shop has organized a fundraiser to help the healing process for the Lane family.

Here's How the Acushnet Creamery Fundraiser Works

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, Acushnet Creamery will be giving away free ice cream sundaes from 10 AM to 2 PM.  All they ask is for everyone to make a donation in any amount.

The Acushnet and Middleboro Police, Fire and EMS will be there with a chance for kids to Touch a Truck and meet a comfort dog.

Every penny raised will be donated to the Lane family in Middleboro.

Rain date will be Sunday, March 10.
