BRIDGEWATER (WBSM) — Bridgewater police and firefighters responded to a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday morning that left four people injured, including a five-year-old.

The crash happened at approximately 11:35 a.m. at the intersection of Route 18 and Winter Street.

Upon arrival, first responders observed a Toyota SUV, a Ford pick-up truck, and a Chevy pick-up truck that had collided.

The driver and sole occupant of the Ford, a 23-year-old Middleboro man, had been ejected from the vehicle. He was transported via medical helicopter to a Rhode Island hospital for treatment.

The Chevy’s driver and sole occupant, a 44-year-old Bridgewater man, was transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the Toyota, a 38-year-old Bridgewater woman, and a five-year-old passenger were both transported to a local hospital by a Bridgewater Fire ambulance.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the Ford pick-up truck was traveling north on Route 18 and collided with the Toyota and Chevy at the intersection.

The crash remains under investigation.
