Downtown New Bedford is going to be alive tonight!

We're looking forward to a very special Food For Tots tonight in downtown New Bedford. The fundraising effort for the Friends of Jack Foundation has been coordinated with the return of 50s Night in New Bedford.

You'll feel like you've stepped out of a DeLorean and into 1955 as you stroll through downtown listening to the music that inspired sock hops and checking out some incredibly preserved antique cars.

When you get hungry, make sure you go to one of our Food For Tots restaurants. Food For Tots might just be the easiest way to support a charity here on the SouthCoast. If you want to support the effort, all you have to do is eat at any in the lineup of all-star restaurants on our Food For Tots list tonight:

  • Carmine's at Candleworks
  • Play Arcade
  • Rose Alley Alehouse
  • Cork Wine and Tapas
  • Inner Bay Cafe
  • Profile Tavern in East Freetown

All of these restaurants have agreed to donate a portion of their sales tonight to the Friends of Jack Foundation.  The local charity has been pivotal in the enhancement of healthcare geared toward children.

The Friends of Jack pays the salaries of child life services workers at a number of SouthCoast health institutions. They have supplied superhero capes and masks to children who are in need of extra bravery to undergo difficult procedures. They have distributed teddy bears to first responders who come across kids having a bad day.

Additionally, Vermette Development has agreed to be the match sponsor for tonight, and Toyota of Dartmouth has donated its advertising campaign to Food For Tots and the Friends of Jack.
