Fisher-Price Recalls Thousands of Barbie Power Wheels
Children's power wheels are being recalled over faulty gas pedals.
Fisher-Price has recalled 44,000 Power Wheels Barbie Dream Campers after over a dozen reports of gas pedal defects.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the dream campers can continue to run even after the gas pedal has been released, which could lead to serious injury.
And though no injuries have been reported to date, Fisher-Price chose to voluntarily recall the camper.
The affected vehicles are hot pink with blue accents and the Barbie logo on the back. They feature a play kitchen, a fold out grill and pretend campfire.
All campers with model number FRC29 are part of the recall and those with affected campers will find that model number on a label under the hood.
The recalled campers were sold at Wal-Mart locations nationwide and online at Walmart.com from July 2018 through January 2019 for about $400.
There have been several reports of power wheels continuing to run even after the pedal was released and Fisher-Price is urging anyone with a Barbie Camper Power Wheel to immediately take them away from children, stop using them and contact them for a free repair.
You can contact Fisher-Price for that repair by calling 800-348-0751 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at www.service.mattel.com and clicking on “Recalls & Safety Alerts” or www.fisher-price.com and clicking on “Recalls” for more information.
