‘Fever Pitch’ Stars Remember Film 20 Years Later

Fans of the team enjoyed seeing Fenway Park on the big screen and of course, Fallon's bathroom in the film stocked with Yankees toilet paper.

Spoiler alert: the ending of the movie features Fallon and Barrymore in a loving embrace as they storm the field during the Red Sox' World Series win, no movie magic needed.
Fans waited 86 years for a World Series championship and they finally got it. A great ending to the Fever Pitch tale, but this iconic moment was never part of the story.
"In our movie, they weren't supposed to win the World Series," Fallon said while sitting down with Drew Barrymore on her talk show.
"The original ending was the Red Sox lost," added Barrymore.
"The real original ending was we were dressed as old people in the future," Fallon said. "And they finally win the World Series in the future."

Barrymore recalled the cameras being at each game as the team kept winning throughout the season, the Wild Card and making it to the playoffs.
"It's the most magical year ever," Fallon thought at the time.
The Tonight Show host rattled off a slew of crew members as well including the brotherly directing duo out of Rhode Island.
"The Farrelly Brothers were so fun," Fallon recalled.

It's been 20 years, but the actor pals still have fond memories from the day the Sox broke the Curse of the Bambino.
"There was so much spirit and good vibes in Boston that day," Fallon said to the audience.
Barrymore admitted, "I still have the sand from the mound."
