The City Council of Fall River officially certified the recall petition of Mayor Will Flanagan last night, but the mayor he says he won't go out so easily. After three terms, Mayor Flanagan will have five days to resign, but the Mayor won't go down without a fight, "I will not step down, I will not be bullied, nor will I bend from political pressure,” according to The Herald News.

In another strange twist to this developing story, Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter expressed interest in Fall River Mayor's seat.  Interestingly, Sutter's office was chosen by Mayor Flanagan to investigate the intimidation charges against him, which helped lead to the recall.

The Mayor has also expressed concern about city councilors interested in eventually becoming Mayor having a say in the recall election.
