For those who decorate their lawn with Halloween decorations, just know that it's all fun and games until a wind storm hits the SouthCoast.

If you recall, there was a pretty strong wind storm that swept through the SouthCoast on Wednesday evening. Nearly 240,000 people were without power across the entire state of Massachusetts, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). That fact alone speaks volumes.

My friends Vanessa and Justin Westgate of Fairhaven are a bit, let's say, enthusiastic when it comes to decorating for the holidays. This year for Halloween, they decided to dress up their lawn with a pretty spooky theme. One of the decorations just so happened to be a 10-foot-tall inflatable pumpkin.

Well, it goes without saying that the Westgates felt the wrath of last night's wind.

The giant pumpkin decided to escape from its tethered reigns and took a little stroll through the neighborhood, flying back and forth in the wind. It bounced off of the neighbor's houses and cars before it was finally subdued and brought back home when Justin ran out of the house and tackled it to the ground.

The best part? It was all captured on their Ring doorbell security camera and the video is quite entertaining. I even added a little voiceover to commentate on the events as they unfolded.

Moral of the story? If you think your yard ornaments and decorations are strapped down securely, you might want to double-check and add double the resistance or you'll end up like the Westgates.

Happy Halloween, everyone. Watch out for flying pumpkins this year.
