To me, this is the best kept secret about where to get a Christmas Tree on the Southcoast.

It's a Rock family tradition.  For the past 10+ years, we have bought our Christmas Tree at the Douglass family farm on Sconicut Neck Road in Fairhaven.  They pick out a weekend each year and sell Christmas trees on their private land, then donate all the money to fight ALS.

This year, the Douglass family will do it again.  Over the weekend of Dec. 5 and 6, from 9-3 p.m the family will be selling Christmas Trees.  Any tree...any size....they are all $40.  Every penny goes to support the ALS Therapy Development Institute, a nonprofit biotech in Cambridge, MA focused 100 percent on ALS research.

There is a new twist this Christmas season.  The Douglass farm will also have select white spruce trees for only $25 each. According to the farm, the trees are great decoration for the home but they can also be planted after the holidays!
