I have never in my life experienced or even heard of "dessert pizza" until today and my tastebuds will never be the same.

A small restaurant in Tiverton called Buddies & Brother at 77 Main Road specializes in authentic Brazilian cuisine, delicious signature cocktails, and specialty pizzas you won't find anywhere else around here. I can't begin to tell you how stuffed I am from my feast at Buddies, but I'll be happy to describe it.

I started the night with a few Brazilian caipirinhas- a beautiful blend of Brazilian sugar cane moonshine called cachaça, fresh squeezed lime juice, and sugar. I couldn't decide between the pineapple, strawberry, or lime, so I ordered all three and was blown away at the presentation of the pineapple concoction that came in an actual pineapple. A sugar rim complimented the strawberry and lime.

The bell in the kitchen rang throughout the restaurant and I knew right away that the dessert pizza was on its way out. Let me tell you something- if you're looking for a sweet treat, you have to try this for yourself. I started with the "Nutella strawberry banana pizza" which was smothered in creamy Nutella spread and covered in sliced strawberries and bananas.

Next up was my favorite: the "cinnamon banana pizza" that had quite an interesting yet tasty flavor to it. There was a mozzarella cheese base with sliced bananas on top, drizzled with condensed milk and sprinkled with cinnamon. Each bite was better than the previous and I couldn't get enough. The perfect marriage of sweet and savory.

The next time you're in the Tiverton area and you have a sweet tooth, be sure to try one of these outrageously good sweet treats that are made with homemade dough daily. You won't be sorry.

The Best of South Shore Bar Pizza

There's pizza, and then there's South Shore Bar Pizza. Birthed in Brockton (and to this writer, perfected in Randolph – Lynwood Café is the true G.O.A.T.), it must meet certain qualifications to be considered "SSBP," which include: it's a 10-inch pie; it has a thin, cracker-like crust with minimal "flop;" the cheese is a blend that features more cheddar than mozzarella; and bonus points if you take it home between two carboard-type plates wrapped in flat brown paper bag. They also usually come with "laced" or "burnt" edges (terminology depends on where you are ordering), which is when the sauce and cheese are extended all the way to the edge of the pan, creating a crispy, flavorful coating to the crust. We reached out to the hugely popular South Shore Bar Pizza Social Club Facebook group to ask the experts to share the best of the best (in no particular order).
