Escape the Stress in This Unplugged Outdoors Paradise in This Quaint Maine Town

If life has been a giant ball of stress and you're looking for an affordable escape, then I have the perfect bucket list destination for you.

After spending five days in Maine, I successfully recharged my internal battery and was able to shed the stress. Just 276 miles North of the SouthCoast is a quaint little town called Rangeley where life moves a little slower and the air is much easier to breathe.

My family, my fiance, and I recently returned from a lovely little bonding getaway and the trip to Maine was everything and more. Located on the Western border of the New Hampshire line and less than an hour South of Quebec, Canada, Rangeley is as remote of a getaway as it gets. On average, it will take you a minimum of five hours to get to Rangeley from New Bedford, but the scenic route alone is worth the trip.

The population is just over 1,200 and the locals are as friendly as they come. With multiple restaurants with different culinary styles, there's something delicious to eat for everybody. Looking for breakfast that doesn't require a reservation? Try Moose Alley- a cafe and grill that doubles as an entertainment complex for some of the best nightlife in town. There you'll be able to go bowling on a Friday night and check out the local bands on Saturday while washing down a cold beer.

One of the best features Rangeley has to offer is peace. It's a place that allows you to think without distraction and leave behind the noise. The cries of Loons cut through the morning fog that settles on the lakes like a beautiful song. It's the best way to enjoy your morning cup of coffee.

Lastly, if you're looking to get lost most figuratively, then take a hike along some incredible trails in and around the surrounding areas of Rangeley, Dallas, and Madrid with the best views of the Saddleback mountains. There's no such thing as light pollution in Rangeley so pause for a moment and look up at the night sky for a gleaming display of stars like you've never witnessed before.
