Dog Park Memberships On Sale January 2nd

The Captain Jack Peterson Dog Park in New Bedford is inching closer to an official opening sometime in January.

The City of New Bedford has announced that memberships to the dog park will go on sale on January 2nd at the City's Clerk's office at City Hall. The annual membership fee is $25, and members must be city residents who retain an active dog license.

There is a one time $10 dollar charge to purchase a fob...an electronic device that will allow access to the dog park.

The park, located on Hathaway Boulevard, between Greenwood and Ruggles Streets, will be managed by a Friends of the Dog Park group.

The dog park will be open year-round, from 7am to 8pm
