See Taunton’s Jaw-Dropping Park Makeover and First Dog Park
Taunton's Davol Park has gone to the dogs — literally.
The city recently unveiled a massive transformation of one of its most historic green spaces, and the before-and-after photos are jaw-dropping.
What was once a quiet, aging park has been turned into a lively community hub that truly has something for everyone (including your pup!).
Mayor Shaunna O'Connell and the parks and recreation team officially cut the ribbon on October 15, celebrating what is being called the "reinvention" of Davol Park.

There's also a shaded pavilion for community gatherings and—finally—Taunton's very first dog park, with separate spaces for big and small dogs to play.
New Trees Planted For Shade and Beauty
The park even includes more than 50 new trees thanks to the city's partnership with Massachusetts' Greening the Gateway Cities Program.

From Quiet Corner to Community Hotspot
Whether you're chasing pickleballs, tossing cornhole bags, or just taking the dog for a walk on a beautiful day, this park's comeback is certainly worth celebrating.
It's just one more wonderful community space to open in Taunton this year.
