Do You Need To Be Married To Have Kids?

While reading the recent news that Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick would be welcoming their third child this winter, I saw a comment on a popular magazine's website that kind of surprised me. And made me wonder how many people still feel this way?

First off, congratulations to the couple on the impending arrival! Babies are always exciting in my mind. And while I don't have any of my own just yet, I do think that loving and caring for your children should be the most important thing.

I say this cause one commenter on the site I read this particular story on seemed to have a differing opinion. This person's only response to the news was to question why Kourtney and Scott have no bother to

set a good example for all their children and GET MARRIED."

And yes, get married was in all caps like that.

Maybe its just me, but in this day and age is it really that important to get married before having kids? Especially in this particular case, where the parents are both active in their

kids lives, have been together for over eight years and clearly have the means to support them?

I don't want to say that everyone should have kids out of wedlock or anything, but if you are in a long term, committed relationship and want to have children together do you really need to get married first?

Does it have to be that first comes love, then comes marriage and then you can have the baby carriage?

Again I stress that loving and caring for your children should be the most important thing.

But if you as a couple can do that, then is it that big of a deal if you do it with or without being married?
