Dartmouth Mom Transforms Son’s Room Into Pixar Paradise [VIDEO]
Ladies and gentlemen, the unofficial "Mom of the Year" award goes to a Dartmouth mother who made her son's wish come true when she turned his bedroom into a Pixar paradise.
Monika Savastano went above and beyond when she transformed her son Greyson's room into a scene straight out of Pixar's Toy Story.
"I had so much fun putting it all together," Savastano told Fun 107. "My son Greyson is three and he is obsessed with Toy Story. He loves running around the house pretending to be Buzz Lightyear and has watched all of the movies more times than I could count."
Greyson randomly asked his mom one day if he could have "Andy's room" from Toy Story, so Savastano did what any parent would do and went to work on planning out the details and design.
"He had a lot of the toys already since he’s a huge fan, but the rest was collected off of Amazon and Etsy," Savastano said. "It took a few weeks of planning, but just one day to put together. Surprising him was the best part."
Savastano also has a daughter, Aria, who is 20 months old and a huge Frozen fan, which could possibly be their next big house project.
"I see a Frozen-themed room in her future for sure," she said.
I've always said that what the world needs more of are wholesome family movies like Toy Story and Savastano not only brought that theory to the table but brought it to life. I'll now leave you with a few lyrics from hit song from the film's soundtrack, "You've Got A Friend In Me:"
"When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed
You just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you've got a friend in me." – Randy Newman
