Celebrate the First Day of Spring With Free Ice Cream

Spring will be official tomorrow, Wednesday, March 20 and if you love FREE ice cream, this will be worth a 30-minute ride from the New Bedford and Fall River area.

Dairy Queen is giving away free soft serve ice cream cones (one per person while supplies last) on Wednesday to officially kick off spring. They will be available at participating non-mall DQ and DQ Grill & Chill locations.

Not that we need an excuse to go on a "Free Ice Cream Field Trip" but we are not far from several of the DQ locations here in Massachusetts. The closest locations for us are Middleboro, Taunton, Falmouth and at the Providence Place mall in Providence, R.I.

Maria Hokanson is the Executive Vice President of Marketing for ADQ said in a statement, “We know that the start of soft-serve season brings joy to our fans, and we can’t wait to help spread smiles.”

The company did a recent survey that found, “People are happier on Free Cone Day than they are on their own birthday.” And I love this statistic: 61.6 percent of people would share a bite of their DQ cone with their significant other, but only 23 percent would share the first bite. You better believe I’m not sharing the first bite! 😋

Oh, and get this…

Once Free Cone Day comes and goes, DQ is offering a small regular or dipped cone for 50 cents if you have the DQ mobile app through the end of March at the same participating locations.
