Buzzards Bay Coalition is inviting folks to the 2024 release party for Sow & Pigs, a refreshing Kölsch-style ale, on Saturday, May 25.

The event will take place at Buzzards Bay Brewing, 98 Horseneck Road in Westport, 4 to 7 p.m. The annual celebration not only showcases a fantastic beer but also supports a great cause, with 50% of the proceeds going toward the coalition’s efforts to restore and protect clean water in the region.

Sow & Pigs Ale, brewed annually since 2015, is a tribute to Buzzards Bay Brewing owner Bill Russell’s deep affection for Buzzards Bay. The name reflects Russell’s favorite relaxation spot, Cuttyhunk Harbor, and embodies the spirit of collaboration between the brewery and the coalition. This Kölsch-style ale is specially crafted for summer, featuring a light, crisp profile with a subtle hop bite, a dry finish and a gentle citrus aroma.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
