I recently happened upon a TikTok with over 2 million views. The stars? A group of renowned food bloggers who unveiled the culinary wonders of Wally's Wieners, nestled in the heart of Newport, Rhode Island.

Contrary to its unassuming appearance, this charming eatery has offerings far beyond hot dogs. Wally's, 464 Thames St., boasts many delights including house-fried chicken sandwiches, enticing vegetarian options and a lineup of eight delectable smashburgers.

It also has a bar to elevate the experience. At Wally's Wieners, the libations range from craft cocktails to zesty house margaritas and an impressive array of 12 espresso martinis featuring flavors such as Salted Caramel, Almond Joy and Peanut Butter Cup. Last but not least, picture this: a colossal espresso martini designed for sharing.

I talked with house managers Jackie Martel and Connor McMullen. They graciously shared insights into the adult beverage that has become a sensation since its introduction in the summer of 2023.

This caffeinated masterpiece, priced at $70, boasts six shots of locally brewed and freshly roasted espresso from Custom House Coffee in Middletown, Rhode Island. The options are tantalizingly divided into light and dark. Light comprises vodka, coffee liqueur, Irish cream and freshly brewed espresso, while dark features vodka, coffee liqueur and fresh brewed espresso.

Here's the kicker. You need a minimum of two people to partake in this heavenly concoction.
