New Bedford Man Claims He’ll Get This ‘Busty’ Seagull Tattoo Under One Condition
When Seagull Cinderella returned to New Bedford, she was met with mixed reviews, but one local artist was ecstatic to see “Busty” back on Route 18.
So much so, he’s willing to get the bird tattooed on his arm.
Hendrick Hernandez-Resto is no stranger to ink, but with the community's help, this next tattoo will turn some heads.
Hernandez-Resto is a city artist and the creative specialist for New Bedford Creative at the New Bedford Economic Development Council, which produces the Seaport Artwalk.
“Since we are in charge of that, we see Donna Dodson’s piece often," Hernandez-Resto said. "It was one of the first pieces I saw go up. I love it. It’s an iconic piece.”
But why get it tattooed?
Hernandez-Resto’s love for art and his love for his hometown led him to take to social media and play a little game that might result in him getting an interesting tattoo.
“It’s a controversial piece and I can relate to the controversy,” he said with a laugh.
If Hernandez-Resto gets 10,000 stars on the post below, he said he will happily go to a New Bedford tattoo shop and get Busty Seagull etched into his left arm for the rest of his life.
His right arm is occupied by the Wu-Tang Clan logo.
“I already have lifelong pieces on my body dedicated to New Bedford,” he said.
What's one more?
Let’s get this man his stars.
