Bamboo Birds in Bristol

The giant avian artwork was created by Donna Dodson and Andy Moerlein, better know as The Myth Makers.

The large birds stand anywhere from 15 feet to 30 feet tall. Luckily, with a 33-acre property, there's plenty of space to spread their wings (pun intended) on the property.

Prior to installation, The Myth Makers spent two days on the property selecting just the right spots for each bird.

Stroll Among the Structures

"Each bird is made from bamboo. We have a beautiful stand of bamboo which is a huge draw for visitors and as part of this exhibit there is a hidden surprise inside the Bamboo Grove waiting to delight visitors," said Tree Callanan, Director of Museum Operations and Communications.

Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission for the Bamboo Birds at Blithewold is included with regular admission.
