Bristol Aggie High School is Now Accepting Applications for the Class of 2023
The best-kept secret in Southeastern Massachusetts education is now enrolling!
Bristol Aggie (whose formal name is Bristol County Agricultural High School) is a public high school that serves all of Bristol County.
While priority admission is given to students from Acushnet, Attleboro, Berkley, Dartmouth, Dighton, Easton, Fairhaven, Fall River, Freetown, Mansfield, New Bedford, North Attleboro, Norton, Raynham, Rehoboth, Seekonk, Somerset, Swansea, Taunton, and Westport, out of county residents are accepted as well (with written approval from the Superintendent of their current school district.)
Bristol Aggie is similar to a vocational school in that is specializes in specific areas of study, but unlike a vocation school, the areas are all related to the management and cultivation of our natural environment. Plus, they have athletics programs like any other school for the full high school experience.
Bristol Aggie focuses on 6 areas of study:
Animal Science: Do you enjoy working with animals? Animal science can prepare you for a career as a farm manager, zookeeper, vet assistant, animal control officer and more. Learn more here.
Floriculture: If you like science and creativity, this program may be for you as you learn to work with cut flowers, foliage and garden plants. This program can prepare you for a career as a Floral Designer, Greenhouse specialist, or Botanical Garden staff. Learn more here.
Arboriculture: Tree huggers united; this program teaches you about the cultivation, management, and care of individual trees. This program prepares you for work in the tree industry, including Utility Arboriculture, Plant production, and integrated pest management. Learn more here
Landscape Design & Contracting: Nature and Construction come together to train students in landscape design, hardscape construction, equipment operation, maintenance, nursery management, and sports turf management. Learn more here
Agricultural Mechanics/Diesel Technology: Problem solve and work with your hands as you restore farm equipment of all sizes. This program prepares students for careers like Mechanic (small engine, farm engine, diesel, surface maintenance, heavy equipment), Race Car and ATV Mechanics and Pipe Fitters. Learn more here
Natural Resource Management: If you're an outdoor enthusiast and like environmental research, this program is for you. Students will learn a broad introduction to various environmental fields and get them ready for a career in Zoology, Marine Biology, Forestry and more Learn more here
Eight graders can find applications in their school's guidance office or can request from Bristol Aggie directly. A number of tours are available on Tuesdays, you can sign up for one here.
