New York Yankees Swing Rivals’ Views
As a life-long Boston Red Sox fan, I can't believe what I'm about to say. I think I'm starting to like the New York Yankees.
Blasphemy, I know! For decades I have hated this team for the sheer fact that the Sox-Yankees rivalry is sacred and if you're a fan of one team, there's a line in the sand that you do not cross.
I've seen the tough days of Sox loses and enjoyed many a World Series championship, but I'll be honest, over the years my fandom has declined slightly.

Baseball Games are Long and Slow
The main reason is time. When I was younger I could watch every baseball game, no problem. Now, jobs and kids and life make it far more difficult to keep up with the action or lack thereof.
Baseball can be slow and at times downright boring. It's nothing new. The addition of the pitch clock is a great example of the league recognizing the need to move things along.
Yankees Make a Change
Over the weekend, we witnessed our bitter rival, the New York Yankees, introduce another change that, I must say, made the game far more exciting.
A tweak to the design of their bats aided in the team hitting nine homeruns in their game on Saturday. NINE. That's a team record.
They followed that up with four more homeruns in Sunday's game.
If the Red Sox start having homerun derby-like games, I may actually start watching more games.
I'm not a Yankees fan by any means, but I am a fan of the exciting change they've made to the game.
