Roughly 100 people lined up outside the Best Buy in Seekonk overnight to take part in the Black Friday festivities.

Among them was Holly Richards, who told WPRI-TV that she and her mom were looking to get a great deal on a new television.

“Usually TVs get like really expensive so most of the time when you get most of the deals is Black Friday,” Richards said.

While many were decked out in ponchos or umbrellas, Katelyn Alba, of East Providence, who was also the very first person in line outside the store, said she had a better way keep warm and dry.

“Well, we have this nice wedding tent with sides and a nice propane heater so when it’s cold out there, it’s warm in here,” Alba said.

Nationwide, retailers expect some 137 million people will be shopping for Black Friday deals over the holiday weekend.
