**UPDATE** Dave Vermette just called back and added in a Whirlpool refrigerator to the package!

We are spotlighting Lavolta Depina and her family this morning. Lavolta is a single mom that was caring for five children on her own (four of which were not biologically hers) when she was suddenly hit with an aortic dissection. To put it simply, her heart torn in half while she was driving one morning. The tear was so serious that her doctor says if she had waited just one more hour to go to the emergency room, she would have died.

She was placed in a medically-induced coma and received open-heart surgery to repair the tear. Lavolta was released from the hospital two weeks ago but has lost her home.  She is living with her uncle in Fall River because he is closer to her medical facility. Her children are staying with relatives in New Bedford.

We got a call from David Vermette from Vermette Development/V Corps. Not only has David been generously bidding and winning Celtics tickets multiple times this week, but he also wanted to take his donation a step further.

David develops high-end homes on the SouthCoast. He wants to donate a set of brand new Whirlpool kitchen appliances. They are stainless steel and they are the same appliances that Vermette puts in the half-million-dollar homes he builds.
