Beautiful Massachusetts Botanical Garden Named Best in U.S.
Summer is a great season for walking among beautiful blooms and towering trees at some of the nation's many botanical gardens.
Travelers book trips just to see some of these floral wonderlands all across the country, but the one people say is the absolute best is right here in Massachusetts.
A recent survey by the site TravelAwaits.com, asked those that have been which botanical gardens they enjoyed the most. Though the national botanical garden in Washington D.C. made the list as did the unique Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ, it was a Boylston, MA garden that came out on top.
The New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill is just north of Worcester and features 171-acres of botanic bliss with 18 different and distinct gardens.
Guests can walk among everything from woodlands to formal gardens during their visit, but it was Tower Hill's 'Secret Garden' and 'Garden of Inspiration' that travelers loved the most.
They also offer more than just gardens throughout the year. Tower Hill's calendar is filled with concerts, yoga classes, children's programs and even art classes.
Plus each winter thousands of lights are strung around the grounds for their annual holiday Night Lights event that brings families back again and again.
Tower Hill even incorporates art displays among their gardens to enhance any nature lovers' trip.
You can even end your day watching the sunset over Wachusett Mountain, which is in view from these beautiful botanical garden grounds.
It's not hard to see why those who have visited these gorgeous gardens call them the best botanical garden in the country. Just a little over an hour away from the SouthCoast, it's a great daycation trip for the whole family.
Though if you want to visit gardens a little closer to home, there are plenty of options for that too.
