Bajah’s Cat Café in Tiverton Has Busiest Day in 3 Years After Viral Social Media Post
As a business owner, how do you get people in the door?
For one Tiverton business owner, she called upon the town to rally behind her, and they came out in droves.
Bajah’s Cat Café made history in 2021 when it became the first cat café in the area.
Three years later, Amanda Souza-Viera is still busy finding forever homes for loving cats, but the attraction to the café seems to be dwindling…until Thursday.
On Wednesday, Souza-Viera took to social media after her café was seemingly a ghost town.
“Bajah’s Cat Café has been part of this community for 3 years, it’s disheartening that our café section isn’t getting the love it deserves from our town,” she said. “As of 7 am today, not a single customer has walked through our door…Please consider stopping by or ordering online.”
Her plea for visitors was met with hundreds of shares and comments as Tiverton and the surrounding towns came to her aid, vowing to visit ASAP.

It turns out those commenters weren’t just fluffing Bajah’s fur. According to the cat café, Thursday was their busiest morning in their 3 years of being open.
“A huge thank you to our amazing community for your unwavering support of Bajah’s Cat Café!” said the business. “Your love and dedication mean the world to us, and we’re so grateful to have you as part of our journey.”
Some may scoff at the cat café’s tactic of getting people in the door, but the truth is, it worked.
Sometimes, all it takes is asking the community around you for a little support, and the Tiverton community didn’t disappoint.
