5 Local Places to Enjoy a Drink by the Water

This destination in South Dartmouth may not be the largest in size, but the outdoor deck overlooking the Apponagansett Bay is well worth the visit. A mini tiki bar with delicious cocktails and frozen margaritas are sure to do the trick on a hot summer day. Although this restaurant is a great place to venture out to, may I suggest going during the evening for a breathtaking sunset!

Unless your familiar with the backroads of Westport, this restaurant might not be the first place you'll think of going to on a bright sunny day. This tiki-styled bar sits alongside East Beach and provides views of sprawling farm land and the ocean.

This hidden bar is set behind the well-known Fairhaven hotel in an open tent right beside the Marina on the Asuchnet River. This is a great place to enjoy live bands while you sit around a full service bar. Occasionally the Seaport will have beer on tap, but mostly bottled or canned. The mixed drink concoctions are unique and very delicious. As for the food, the Seaport Inn and Marina Tent offers a full menu with the freshest seafood and appetizers to enjoy with your cocktail or beer. Oh yeah, the sunset is phenomenal as well!

The old Regatta has been transformed into an elegant and stylish restaurant that hangs over the Taunton River with a breath-taking view of the Braga Bridge and Battleship Cove. Relax on their newly extended porch and boat owners can sail up to the docks outside of the Cove and enjoy delicious beverages and a menu that will make your mouth water! This is definitely my first "go-to" destination on bright sunny days. Live music, a full outdoor bar and very comfortable deck couches are simply the cherry on top to add to the atmosphere of the this well-designed restaurant.

What used to be Davy's Locker is now The Edge. Enjoy a cocktail by the ocean at the outdoor tiki bar or dine outside on the upper or lower level decks. Located near Fort Taber, this is the perfect place to grab a drink and dinner after a day at the beach.
